The National Tourism Council is a permanent framework for reflection and
proposal bringing together the public administrations concerned by tourism as well as the private operators involved in the tourism sector.

The National Tourism Council is responsible for:

  • to organize consultations on the orientations and the strategy for the development of tourism defined by the Government:
  • to propose measures for the definition of the tourism development policy
  • to carry out missions of strategic watch and reflection on the international tourist situation and foresight on the evolutions of the sector;
  • to issue opinions on all the issues referred to it in the areas falling within its scope
  • assess the implementation of the national tourism development policy


The National Tourism Council is referred to by the Minister in charge of Tourism all the questions the examination of which seems useful for the realization of the
Government objectives in terms of tourism and hotels.
It gives opinions on questions relating to the policy of orientation and development of the tourist industry and makes recommendations.
